FINE is pleased to announce a new document that reviews the 2023 Northeast Farm to Institution Summit, in conjunction with the launch of a new webinar series.
A Review of the 2023 Northeast F2iSummit
The hybrid 2023 Northeast Farm to Institution Summit (F2iSummit) brought together more than 600 people online and in person to generate ideas and connections that advance the ability of the Northeast to support viable farm, food, and sea businesses and healthy, just communities. We are pleased to share with you the 2023 Northeast F2iSummit Review: a detailed look at the event and its impacts. This publication looks at the program, attendee demographics, financials, how well we met our sustainability and DEI goals, and much more. Throughout the document, we highlight lessons learned and key questions for moving forward with future F2iSummit planning. This report draws on a number of sources including surveys, interviews, community boards, and focus groups. We hope this will be interesting to anyone who attended, presented, sponsored, or exhibited at the Summit, as well as others planning similar events.
CommUNITY Powers the Food System Webinar Series
To accompany the release of the F2iSummit Review publication, we are excited to announce the first webinar in our new series. CommUNITY Powers the Food System was the theme of the 2023 Northeast Farm to Institution Summit, and it continues with FINE's new webinar series. We believe the energy and community created during the 2023 F2iSummit should not end there but continue to grow and expand until we convene again in 2025. Each webinar will highlight important progress, offer opportunities to collaborate, and help our network move towards a more just, equitable, sustainable, and resilient food system for all. The webinar series will support the theme of the 2023 F2iSummit, and continue to highlight the humanity in our collective farm to institution work. We honor, understand, and build connections between the people who power our food system. We recognize the impact of the institutional sector on the food system, in procurement, investment, research, education and care. It is through the power of people - our ideas, efforts, and collaborations - that we will address urgent issues like climate change, wealth inequality, and racial injustice.
